Thank you for changing my life last night.
Not with the music, not with the lights, not with the clothing, not with the people. But with you, and your words. I heard you. I listened to every syllable of your closing speech. You articulated so incredibly well the emotion, the inspiration, the importance of what you were doing, and it showed humility not arrogance. Its cliche, but I was left speechless, it was sublime.
There would have been no better way to end an experience like that. I was taken from the most primal emotions (standing on the arms of our seats, screaming 'The Good Life' to my friends, and the 40 other strangers around us) back up to the highest intellectual emotions in your closing words. Forget Madonna, U2, and Elvis. You're going after Mozart, Shakespeare, and Warhol.
You may never read this, but it won't matter. It's like Huckabees: Everything is connected so you knew all this before I said it, and nothing is connected so it wouldn't matter if you did.
